Move a QuickBooks Online company to the right region, currency or entity
QuickBooks Online can't change a company's region or home currency, and it has no tool to merge or split companies. When your file is in the wrong place, we rebuild it correctly and migrate your history across — reconciled to the shilling.
Four situations Intuit can't fix with a setting
Change region or edition
Your company was opened in the US, UK or another regional edition, and you need the edition that matches where you operate and how you want to be billed.
Fix the home currency
The file was created in the wrong home currency. QuickBooks Online can't change it once transactions exist, so the books must be rebuilt in a correct company.
Merge companies
Two or more QuickBooks Online files that should be one — after a restructure, or because each office started its own.
Split one company
One file that now needs to become separate legal entities, each with its own books, VAT and reporting.
Profiled, loaded, then proven
We start by profiling the source company — lists, open items, multicurrency use, classes and locations, and how many years of detail matter to you. That gives a written scope and a fixed price.
We then set up the destination company correctly from the start: region, home currency, VAT, chart of accounts and tracking. Data is loaded through Intuit-supported imports and API-assisted tooling, in a trial run first and a final run at cut-over.
Before you switch, we reconcile the trial balance, bank, debtor, creditor and VAT balances between the two companies and hand you the sign-off report.
Typical outcome
- New company in the right edition, billed in KES
- Open invoices and bills carried forward intact
- Current-year detail plus summarised prior years
- Old company kept for audit access until you're ready
- Users, permissions and bank feeds reconnected

Can I change the country or region of my QuickBooks Online company?
No. Intuit does not allow a QuickBooks Online company's region to be changed, and its help pages confirm that direct region-to-region migration isn't available. The only route is to set up a new company in the right edition and migrate your data into it — which is what we do.
Can I change the home currency in QuickBooks Online?
Not once the company has transactions, and multicurrency cannot be switched off once it is on. If either was set incorrectly, the reliable fix is a new, correctly configured company with your data migrated across.
How much history can be moved between QuickBooks Online companies?
You choose: full transaction detail, monthly summary journals, or opening balances at a cut-over date. Most clients take detailed open items and current-year history, with prior years summarised and the old file kept read-only for reference.
What happens to our old QuickBooks Online subscription?
We keep it active until the new company is reconciled and signed off, then help you move it to a cheaper read-only arrangement or close it, depending on how long you need access for audits.
How much does a QuickBooks Online to Online migration cost?
From KES 25,000, fixed after a free assessment. Merges and splits are quoted on scope because they involve mapping rules between entities.
